The Women's side of the club entered two boats into University Fours this year, with the Division 2 entry winning the contest. Here's a breakdown of the events as they happened:
Despite a strong start, Maggie took an early lead in the race and held onto their advantage. It was a tight contest and the girls put up a strong fight, despite the fact that this was the first time their boat had rowed together.

Jesus pulled out of the race at the last moment, allowing Catz a win by default. A little bit of an underwhelming day after the preparation the women had put in.
Bow: Natasha Watts
2: Holly Garnett
3: Julia Nowicka
Stroke: Catherine Bunting
Cox: Naomi Arnold
Clare had a good start and took an early lead. However, they failed to maintain their power and started to wane before the end of the reach. Catz took advantage quickly, stealing the lead at the railway bridge. The women maintained their power and were clear of Clare by the time they reached the P&E. A final push gave Catz a decisive victory.
Bow: Natasha Watts
2: Aline Simon
3: Julia Nowicka
Stroke: Holly Garnett

With both boats starting strongly, they were level for the length of the reach. A determined push at the bridge allowed Catz a slight margin over Christ's, which grew to half a length by the time they crossed the finishing line.

An excellent effort by both boats has surely made Catz W1 one to watch this year!
